Since that game, the team has played with varying success, and continues to grow, although not without difficulty. In 2001, the team having been financially mismanaged, filed for bankruptcy and was purchased by Tom Gaglardi's. Since his purchase, he has brought back former Stars president Jim Lites to put the team in the right direction.
